There is still room in our Online Groups! If you are interested in joining, send an email to email@example.com.
WELCOME to our feedback and accountability group for playwrights and screenwriters. Hopefully, this list will give you an idea of what we do and how we do it:
Sessions run for 8 weeks ($120 per Session)
We have 2 "In Real Life" Groups that meet in the East Village; Monday Group and Tuesday Group. In October 2018 we will introduce 2 Online Groups!
Each Group Meeting is 3 hours allowing roughly 30-40 minutes to focus on each writers' work. Writers bring in UP TO 10 pages for presentation and lightly guided feedback from a small group of peers who will become very familiar with your work (and you with theirs)
Support continues outside Group Meetings with resources like online writers' rooms hosted by our facilitators, access to members from other groups on our Facebook Group, organized private readings for ready work, and consultation and support for self-producing writers
All members (current and former) may submit material for Pithy Parties. A Pithy Party is a public reading party where excerpts of work from our writers get presented to an invited audience providing you an opportunity to get your work heard, meet new actors, directors, and other writers while also seeing how your work is received by an audience. (Coming in 2019, a Pithy Stream which is just like a Pithy Party, but ONLINE! Details TBD)
Private Sessions Available and Online Groups Coming October 2018

Want to Know if Pithy is Right for YOU?
"I had written a treatment for a screenplay back in 2015 in a thwarted attempt to go to film school and left it moldering in a desk drawer (or at least on a hard drive). When Bree began the Playful Substance group in October of 2017, I immediately signed on as a beta tester an began writing that screenplay in earnest. When it came time to re-up, I happily became a paying participant from the second session on. The result? I'm almost done with my first screenplay and have written a treatment for a second. When my first act was complete, Bree helped to arrange for a staged reading, and the support I have had these past few months has pushed me through writer's blocks, competing deadlines and all the stuff that life throws at you (I have a FT job and I'm a single mom). I 100% know I never would have gotten here without Bree, Playful Substance, and the curated group of writers that are more than colleagues: they are all now dear friends." -Astrid Cook
